All the Fullness of God: An Exploration of Ephesians

The letter to the Ephesians gives us Paul’s 50,000-foot vision of the gospel-driven church. He shows us at a glance the beginning and the end - God’s plan in creation through to the final joining together of “everything in heaven and earth” in the Messiah.

This “circular letter” (passed around to various churches while Paul was in prison), consistently showcases Jesus, the truly human one, as the means by which humanity is called to become human in a whole new way.

As Paul pictures it, the church is designed to be a small working model of New Creation by joining together as a single family in worship of the one God, reflecting God’s life into the world. It is called, therefore, to play a vital role in the ongoing spiritual warfare through which Jesus’s victory on the cross is made real, and to display before a hostile world the truth and love of the creator God.
